“Dr. Westmoreland, I just needed to let you know – you saved my life…I truly believe that. My insurance changed right after I had the surgery done and your office does not work with them. Therefore, I have worked very closely with my physician making sure my blood work is done and I make sure I eat correctly.
I have lost 100 lbs and I am off all medications with the exception of my Levothyroxine which was taken down from 137 to now 88. I am no longer on a sleep machine, and I feel absolutely WONDERFUL!!!! My problem was binge eating. With the surgery I had to deal with my issues and not use food. I kept remembering “it is a tool”.
Eating right is my top priority. I eat quality protein, seeds, nuts and berries and dairy. I have never said I could not have a certain food. If I want an M&M, I will have one, I just no longer feel the need to eat a whole bag!!!! LIFE IS SO SWEET!!!!
I work out 3-5 days a week, at the least 30 minutes each time. Usually it is more like an hour. And, I am so excited with the warmer weather I once again can hike. One of the things I always loved to do but was unable to do after gaining so much weight. In 1995 I completed the LA Marathon and I think I just might do the one in Nashville. I do believe I have one more left in me. If I do, I will let you know…it was so important that I build muscle once again. I do at least 30 pushups a day, and I lift 5# weights. My arms, legs and back have lots of muscle and this is so important for me. Health has been my goal since day one and I feel I have succeeded!!!!
I want to lose another 30 pounds and I will! Thank you!”
